High blood pressure can damage heart and vessels. Hypertension or high blood pressure can also damage the kidneys, so hypertension is one of the most common causes of chronic kidney failure in adults. Measuring blood pressure in children is also very important, so it is recommended that children over 3 years of age have their blood pressure checked routinely by pediatricians. The cause of high blood pressure in children is mostly due to primary renal diseases, vascular involvement or kidney tissue involvement. Other causes of high blood oressure in chikdren include heart or endocrine disorders.
